Very good, the staff are helpful, checkin process is fast, hotel and room are clean, breakfast are good, surely will back again

This is my second time staying in Aston. The service is impeccable and the staff are the most friendliest and helpful people. The rooms are kept clean daily with fresh towels always available. The restaurant is cosy with really good variety of both western and delicious Indonesian traditional food.
The hotel’s location is just a stone’s throw away from lots of eateries and restaurants, museums and tourist spots.
The swimming pool has a children’s pool and mini water park. Great for families with young children.
The adult pool is always clean and big enough for a good workout.
I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come again.

I upgraded to the Presidential Suite at a cost exceeding $500 per night. Regrettably, the condition of the room fell far below the standard expected for such a premium rate and does not justify being classified as a “Presidential Suite.”
The air-conditioning was ineffective, and the toiletries provided were incomplete. These deficiencies are unacceptable for accommodation at this price point. Overall, the experience did not reflect the value paid and warrants serious review.

Clean room and location is fair enough. Staffs are accomodating. Room facilities need improvement as furniture are quite old.

Pros:
Kids club and kid-friendly pool/water play were great. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and amenities were provided. There’s also a gym and massage service available.
Cons:
Very poor soundproofing — could hear people talking and laughing from the street. Hotel was under maintenance and felt rundown. Floor felt sticky and not clean, room was stuffy with mosquitoes, and air-conditioning was not cooling even at 18°C. Bathroom was not kid-friendly. Massage was done in a regular hotel room with no music or ambience, making it uncomfortable.
Reception staff were generally friendly, except during check-in. I was asked to provide proof for an issue that was not my mistake, which made the experience unpleasant.
Overall:
Good facilities for kids, but cleanliness, maintenance, air-conditioning, and check-in experience need improvement.

Clean and well maintained rooms. Necessary amenities all available. Good value for money. Not too far from Tanjung Pinang town.

The hotel is in need of a renovation and to get a fresh upgrade. Breakfast quality is getting poorer.

The highlights of the Aston are the staff and the pool. In my opinion it's only 3 stars. I stayed in room 225. It was very musty smelling. I had the window open 24/7 and because I stayed 11 nights I bought room deodoriser to try and reduce the mustiness. I also needed to clean the mould and soap scum off the tiles and shower recess glass. My room needed renovation. The carpet needs to be replaced with hard flooring. The urnishings are dated. The restaurant is large but the menu is uninspiring. Very few vegetarian options.
