We had a fabulous stay at Moss Mountain! Every detail was thoughtfully considered—from the cozy towels to the excellent coffee—making the entire experience feel welcoming and effortless. The bed and breakfast was exceptionally clean, beautifully appointed, and kept us warm, comfortable, and relaxed throughout our stay. The owner was incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend Moss Mountain any time of year, but its location is especially magical in winter. Just a short drive from Glacier National Park, the area is quiet, peaceful, and stunning this time of year. We stayed from February 4th to 8th and found it to be the perfect home base for exploring all the winter activities the region has to offer. We can’t wait to return!
Feels like you’re in the woods, so many places to sit and hang out in the yard and the inn. Breakfast is European/continental - oatmeal, yogurt, huckleberry toast :), cheese snacks, apples, oranges, granola bars, fruit snacks, peanut butter, jellies, oatmeal, coffee, tea, apple juice, milk and any can be taken for snacks as well. She also had supplies you could borrow, though I didn’t use them - bear spray, ?cooler, etc. Bed was comfortable and room (Camas) shower, sink, and toilet were all contained in the room. Not overly spacious, but most b&b rooms aren’t. Best gift: Marguerite who has owned it since ?2022. She so quickly was able to give great tips. As I was heading out to a conference in Missoula she shared about the Garden of 1000 Buddhas right off the highway. I never would have known about this and was a great stop. If disabled, this place might be a challenge as breakfast is up staircase, and the toilet was on a tiered pedestal (see photo). There was another bathroom on the 1st floor I didn’t explore so it might be an option, but not as convenient if getting up at night.
We loved our stay here. It started to feel like home & we hated to leave. The owner (Marjarite) had the sweetest pets & we fell in love with them. The kitchen has breakfast foods such as bagels, English muffins, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, fruits, huckleberry bread & jam:) She also has snacks like granola bars, cheese & nuts. She provides things like bear spray, insect repellent & hiking sticks. The property is perfect with lots of beautiful flowers. Our bed was so comfy and had the best pillows. Our bathroom towels were great…huge & so soft. Margarite is the sweetest & so helpful with her advice on things to do & routes to take. I told her how much I loved the huckleberry jam she had & she sent me home with a jar!! I would recommend this place to everyone.
JUST AMAZING!
An oasis in the middle of nature. Although 10 miles out of Columbia Falls - it is all 70mph driving and only a 10 minute drive - worth every second! Property is super well maintained and very clean. It is a self-serve continental breakfast, but has a great variety and convienent to have anytime you like.
Conveniently located! From Moss Mountain Inn, it is an easy 15 minutes to Glacier National Park and 30 minutes to the friendly resort town of Whitefish. It's just 9 minutes into Columbia Falls for groceries or out-to-eat. Innkeeper Marguerite thought of all the nice touches, from having bear spray & bug spray to having postcard postage available. She also let us borrow a cooler for a day trip we took and lawn chairs to sit by the nearby river confluence. The ample continental-style breakfast and grab-and-go snacks were welcomed. Marguerite is happy to act as concierge and gives great advice. We really appreciated her tip to take a gondola ride at Whitefish ski resort and have a cocktail at the top. It was very warm when we visited, so during the daytime, we appreciated being able to use our room A/C. A locally owned chalet with limited rooms means sometimes my spouse and I were on the property by ourselves, but even when other guests were there, it was plenty private and quiet. My husband appreciated interacting with the resident outdoor cats. We both enjoyed reading our books on the private balcony. Thanks for the great stay!
Nice weekend get away
Host was very nice the place was clean and nice and quiet. Would like to come back during the summer months to check out the area. Enjoyed the stay and the mild winter.
Marguerite is the perfect host, and if you’re looking for clean, Moss Mountain Inn is literally spotless. Really appreciated all the special touches, like the books of history of the area around to read, Marguerite’s personal recommendations for food and activities, the guest fridge and snacks. It was a comfortable, relaxing, and beautiful stay.
Beautiful, peaceful place with wonderful hosts. The breakfast mix was complete and thoughtful, while the rooms allowed us to relax after full days at Glacier. The location is perfect because it's away from the masses, but close to the park.
A tranquil retreat! Moss Mountain exceeded our expectations. From the warm greeting by our host, to the comfortable, clean bedrooms and many options for relaxing and hanging out in common spaces, Moss Mountain is a must. We were just 15-20 minutes to the entry into GNP, very convenient and easy drive. Our host always had a supply of snacks and breakfast items out for the taking. We had two of the four rooms and felt like the entire house was to ourselves! Plenty of places to read, enjoy the many views outside, and hang out with our family. I would choose the Inn again and again.
