Beautiful place. If you are looking for a romantic/relaxing weekend the location is great and owners very friendly. However, maintenance is the down factor. The chalet need some love and care. Same as the property. Biggest disappointment: the BALCONY SPA! The water is refilled from the dam and no gel/soaps are aloud; but the spa itself was definitely not inviting. Removing the cover let a mouldy smell come out. Water very greenish and the spa walls quite slimy...... not looking good and healthy at all. Mentioned to the owners, nothing changed. The spa is treated like a swimming pool..... but the swimming pools as well, if not properly maintained, will become green slimy. We left with the feeling that to be "luxury" (as mentioned everywhere) there is a lot to do.

Just came back from Hidden Grove Retreat not luxury. Cabin okay, but fans filthy, sliding door broken couldn't lock. Not enough fire wood supplied, told to collect from wood pile if we wanted more (really). Sorry wouldn't get in hot tub. Run down as per photo's.

Had an amazing stay here with my partner for her birthday. So quiet and peaceful listening to the sounds of nature. Loved the spa in the evening listening to all the frogs. With being cut off from phone reception and wifi you made the effort to relax and enjoy the moment. We listened to relaxing music by the fire in the evening with some nibbles. Cooked up an amazing steak on the BBQ and dined by candlelight. Slept to the sounds of the crackling fire because it was so cold! Nice crisp mornings with a beautiful mist through the trees and the sounds of nature. Was a bit wet to get a walk in but we got a short one in along the river. Thank you to Tony and Tracey.

The website is so miss leading. No mountain bike riding as bikes don’t work and no trail walk because no trail it is all so over grown. No tennis court, absolutely so not maintained. Bridges to cross over stream where dangerous or none existent because trees had fallen over them and the owners had not bothered to fix. No chess game so over grown with weeds. The spa was a bit scary with bugs and other human floaters in it. Was not emptied very often I don’t think. The chalet was nice but lights didn’t work or were just not there. Bbq was so on a lean our sausages would have rolled of if we didn’t take the top of and put on a table. It a bit of a trick to other places for food as well. So nothing to do there at all.Don’t go,way better places to spend money

We booked the 3 night romantic getaway.....what an awesome find this place is! If you’re after a truly quiet relaxing time with next to no phone/internet connection then this is the place for you. The chalet has everything you need it is extremely well equipped it was clean light and airy...sitting in the outdoor spa on a starlit night is divine! We had lunch at St Aidens winery which was amazing. We opted to have a full breakfast included and the produce was so fresh and tasty Tony and Tracey have thought of everything they were the perfect hosts. We loved this place so much we have already booked our return stay!

Weekend getaway with everything you need and more. Comfy bed, warm spa, wood fire for cold nights and crystal clear rain water to drink. We checked in/out at the allocated times and didn't leave! We are with Telstra and had phone reception out the front of our cottage but otherwise it was nice not to have. Nicely surprised by the great quality kitchen set up. If you really need to get away and switch off then this is the place for you. We will definitely be back!

I really loved my recent stay in the Kalamata chalet at Hidden Grove. Tracy and Tony were so welcoming and helpful, and just lovely down to earth people. I didn’t need anything but felt very comfortable that I could contact them if I needed to. There were so many nice and unexpected touches, too many to mention, and I really appreciated the kitchen set up. It was obvious that a lot of thought has gone into the chalets. It was a great place to relax and unwind, so peaceful and earthing, yet close enough to local towns for a day venture. I’ve stayed at a few places down south and this one is now my absolute favourite. I’m very much looking forward to visiting again…

Lovely, well appointed and very private chalets. Very friendly welcome. Peace and quiet on a big forest block. Awesome hot tub on the balcony. Big comfy bed too. Pack an esky with your favourite foods and wine for a few days and just get away from it all.
